Whatever your goals, there are five characteristics you must possess and develop to achieve them. We all possess these abilities; we just need to practice them daily.
1. Tenacity
Stay strong. Never give up. Find another way. Keep going! Persistence requires consistency and hard work. But persistence guarantees you’ll reach your dream destination.
2. Focus
Always remind yourself of the goals you’ve set. This is your focus. We often get so caught up in the distractions of everyday life that we lose sight of our primary focus: our goals!
Where our focus is, our power and energy flow. So, if you focus on problems, they will fill your life. Conversely, if you focus on your goals and how to overcome each obstacle that arises while pursuing them, you will also be brought closer to your goals.
3. Commitment
This is why your goals should be something you’re passionate about. You can’t commit to something you don’t enjoy and don’t want. Commit to pursuing your goals.
4. Passion
Maintaining passion isn’t easy. Often, people have a strong passion at the start, but then their passion fades. To maintain passion, write down the joy you’ll experience when you achieve your goals and the sorrow you’ll experience when you don’t. Visualize your goals to maintain your passion.
5. Determination
Determination is a combination of commitment, tenacity, focus, and passion. Determination comes from knowing what you want and why you want it. Determination prevents you from backing down, giving up, or abandoning your goals.
For a moment, try to pause from chasing your goals and reflect: are you losing focus? feeling apathetic about your goals? Is your enthusiasm starting to wane? Then review your goals, refocus, renew your commitment, and rekindle your passion. That way, you’ll be unstoppable in achieving every goal!
